Our history

Ours is the story of two families who, for generations, have been enthusiastically engaged in the household production of a variety of genuine wine much appreciated by a lot of Sardinians. Nevertheless, the wine company was established thanks to the devotion of Aunt Rosa and Uncle Domenico who let their nephews grow the vineyards. And it is from here that a new project comes to life. At the helm of the business there are Roberto Franceschi, Carla Vozella, Stefania Franceschi and Roberto Ligas. In 2006 they replace old vines with new ones. With the passing of time, the vineyards grow and produce good grapes and finally the time is ripe to open the winery. In 2012, the first bottle of wine is produced. Il Vigneto is a young company but strongly rooted. It can boasts the presence of several women and it is growing maintaining a perfect balance between innovation and tradition.

The winery

The company is located in the area historically dedicated to the cultivation of the Cannonau wine. Situated on the granite cliffs of the mountain of Lanusei, the lands face south, towards the stream Riu Pardu. Placed at 500m. above sea level, the vineyards share the ground with olive trees, cork oaks and orchards, while the grapes enrich their flavours thanks to the fragrance of the Mediterranean scrub. The wine rests in durmast oak barrels within the cellar located on the top of the village. Visitors have the chance to taste the wine while enjoying the spectacular airy view of the coast of Ogliastra.
